but if we'll make it in the end.. i'll take the chance. today was a rather boring day.. didn't wanna come to school but florence insisted that i did.. still tired and aching all over from the amazing race yesterday. i'll tell ya more about it later but for now lets get my day over and done with..
first thing in the morning was the dialogue session with the prinicipal and the v-p. its actually a time where students get to express their concerns to these people and they will answer your questions and try to compromise on your suggestions. guess who started the ball rolling? *cough*sohweijie*cough* yup.. so it was a rather boring time..
then the sec 3s had a whole day of games lined up for them. think: field, poison ball covered in mud, water,dirt,grime,brown shirts.. and more dirt. but i gave it a miss because i developed a blister from all that walking yesterday. i conversed with mr soh for a while about my blister then i sneaked to the 3rd floor.florence was so brave. she did not want to get involved with any of the games so she just stood up and made a run for it after the p--vp dialogue session. we spent the whole day at the piano. eating,laughing,and in florence's case, teaching me. i quote her saying: your left hand is ok.your right hand is fine too. but when you put them together...... rather funny. i think we made someone mad.. but anyways, the whole day was spent up at our usual dwelling place. we went down to the koi pond and the canteen for a little while.. and then school was over. no one even knew that we had skipped the activities. its not surprising though, one-third of our class did not show up. so i went to my aunt's house, came home and i have been reading up to now. and i'm done =)
ok yesterday, which was monday, 17th october '05.
i went to school as usual, didn't have a hunch about what was going on that day until florence told me that it was the day of the amazing race. we set out in our group of 12, 4 china scholars,florence,mingyue,jie pin, phoebe,francine,chung son,james and me. we ran and walked till the very soles of our feet felt like they were about to drop out. kembangan,city hall, esplanade,clarke quay... and then, tampines. on the train to tampines which we boarded at city hall (or somewhere in town) our group started to strategise. we were running out of time, so florence and i decided to risk our lives. (ok, im kidding) but anyway, the both of us split from our group to complete some tasks which would earn us extra points. the both of us alighted at bedok while our group went on to tampines. (we figured that they would never miss 2 extra people) the both of us took a cab from bedok to temasek jc. we took a picture of the sign. then we took the same cab to florence house to pick up certain types of chilli sauce. when we were done, we walked out to the main road to get a cab back to temasek primary to take another picture. we were walking along the pavement. florence rounded the corner when she saw some lower sec temasekians.they shouted. she fled back. okok, i fess' up. we weren't supposed to split from our group, its not allowed. we didn't know that they were lower secs at first, and they did not know that we were in the amazing race. but just in case, i held florence's hand and dragged her to a hiding place. it was one of those little random storehouses along the roadside where they keep dustbins. there was a little drain around it. so i pulled florence in, and we hid at the back of the storehouse. ingenious,no? but not good enough. we heard those pesky boys making their way in so i pulled florence to another side. another pesky boy poked his head in from the other side and saw us. he smirked.grrrrrr....... he spoke to his friends in a mixture of languages. anyways, a transalation: what audacity,girls playing traunt!! what a clever hiding place... then they laughed and said something along the lines of: we won't tell on you... and walked away. argh!! we weren't playing truant.... we hailed a cab and left for temasek primary. florence ran down to get a picture of a banner. several sec 4 boys called her mad for taking a picture of that banner.. haha. we got the taxi driver to drop us one bus stop away from our school. we hung around waiting for our group to arrive back from tampines. they took forever!!! we waited for an hour at the bus stop. our group was one of the last few to arrive back at school. reporting time: 1 20 pm. we returned at 2 20 pm. i returned home, showered,read, and fell asleep for 3 hours.
